The Reading Room is an innovative hybrid of gallery, library and events space at London’s Wellcome Collection. With over a thousand books and 100 objects – including contemporary sculptures, paintings, medical artefacts and manuscripts – the room is described as “an open invitation to dig a little deeper into what it means to be human”.
Anna Faherty worked with the Reading Room curatorial team and graphic designers Objectif to plan, develop and deliver all the interpretation in the space. This included object and artwork labels, on-screen and instructional text and navigational signage. She also selected 1000 of the books purchased for the space and wrote the accompanying Reading Room Companion publication.
